Mr. Cao is recognized as one of the key pioneers of China’s ski industry. He brings access to extensive industry and government relationships in China, coupled with his expert knowledge of Chinese ski resort consumers and evolving operating practices.
Prior to joining MCR, Mr. Cao directed the business activities of Yabuli Ski Resort, which is the first and the largest ski resort in China and will host the World University Winter Games in 2009. As the marketing director of the China Entrepreneurs Forum and under his direction, Yabuli also hosts annually the China Entrepreneurs Forum, which gathers China’s most prominent and successful business leaders each winter.
For his contribution in the theory of leisure economics Mr. Cao obtained the master degree of economics from the Peking University. He is currently the Deputy Director of the Resort Committee of the Chinese Ski Association, and has given key speeches at many international symposiums, including the UNIDO Ski Industry International Symposium, the Asia Pacific Alpine Investment Summit and the Alpec and Prosnow Conferences.
Prior to joining Yabuli Ski Resort, Mr. Cao was the general manager of Cinsteel International, a Singapore-based joint venture of the NatSteel Group and the Wuhan International Investment Co., where he handled cross-border business logistics between Singapore and China. He also held several positions in foreign affairs acting as the Commercial Attaché of the China Embassy in the Middle East. Mr. Cao’s diplomat experience has made him skillful and thoughtful in handling with the relationship with governments at different levels in China.
