Ms. Ólöf Ýrr Atladóttir, born August 20st 1967, is the Director General of the Icelandic Tourist Board from 2008. Ms. Atladottir holds a BA degree in Icelandic literature and a BSc. degree in biology from the Univeristy of Iceland. She completed an MSc by research from the University of East Anglia in 2000 and a MPA from University of Iceland with an attached diploma in developmental studies.

Ms. Atladóttir  has a wide experience as a ranger in Icelands national parks and protected areas. She organised and guided cross-country equestrian tours 1992-1994 and managed an educational activity center for tourists at Lake Mývatn in 1997. She participated in various biological research projects 1995 - 2000, and worked at deCode genetics within the physical mapping laboratory and pharmacogenomics unit 2000-2002. She was managing director of the National Bioethics Committee of Iceland 2002-2007.

Ms. Atladóttir is a Board member of Promote Iceland since 2009, the Iceland Convention Bureau (from 2008, chairman since  2011), the North Atlantic Tourism Association, NATA (from 2009, chairman since 2010), She was Vice-chairman of the board of Vatnajökull National Park 2008-2010 and a member of the Icelandic delegation at CDBI, the legal committee for bioethics within the European Council 2003-2007. Her previous experience includes various administration and social activities.

Author and co-author of reports, articles, book chapters and other publications, Ms. Atladóttir is an experienced speaker at numerous conferences and meetings abroad and in Iceland.
